What’s Cool on Kickstarter

There’s many interesting items to be found on Kickstarter, but these are the coolest ones this week.

Godsfall Worldbook
Godsfall is an amazing 5e podcast with so much world building done by the GM Aram in an unique setting. You can use this setting for your own game now, with divinities and all the maps and world information you need to bring it to life. I love how the divinities contribute to the game Aram runs, and think it would be a great way to make your game a little more exciting.

“Godsfall is a broken land. A land in which the Old Gods slaughtered one another in a great war that ravaged the world and stripped divine and arcane casters alike of their magic. It is a world where the five kingdoms that remain bicker over resources, taking up arms to defend shipping lanes and tariffs instead of a common defense. It is ninety-eight years after the destruction of most of the known world and all her Gods, but a God can never truly die. Their power is seeping back into the realm of mortals to anoint new Deities – and you are one of the chosen.

The expanded Godsfall Worldbook will contain full rules for all thirty-six Divinities from levels 1-20, rich descriptions and original art of lands and major cities across the Five Kingdoms, original portraits of dozens of NPCs from the Godsfall podcast, a Godsfall character sheet with space for player Divinities, drawings and descriptions of original creatures that stalk the Godsfall world, and detailed world and city maps.”

Light of R’lyeh
These are some really cool candles, that I would never want light. Luckily for me, there are also wax figures with a light inside that will look just as amazing on your shelf without needing to melt the whole thing down. There is an incredible amount of work put into these Cthulhu idols and I would love to have one on my shelf.

“From the depths of R’lyeh emerges the light of insanity! The Light of R’lyeh is a piece of art that presents the great Cthulhu in candle form for cults and rituals, an essential piece for collectors and cultists. The candle of Cthulhu is offered in two formats: Cthulhu Eternal (flameless candles) and Cthulhu Ritual Candle (classic candles). ”

Fire and Bone 4
Every release Fire and Bone does is amazing. The tiny metal replicas of skulls of various animals are perfect in their details, and some of them are even wearable. I really love that many of them come with and articulating jaw to add to the uniqueness of these collectibles. The new species include alligator, coyote, ox, sacred ibis and more.

“Fire & Bone makes tiny, true-to-life, animal skull reproductions derived from high-resolution 3D scans of original specimens, carefully miniaturized in a digital process, then cast in metal using traditional techniques. Each skull can be worn or displayed on their optional wood collectors base.”

Dungeon Dealer
I’ve never built a dungeon on the fly, but if I did, I’d imagine it would be incredibly repetitive and a little boring. So these cards would help ensure there are surprising twists and turns in the dungeons with things like traps figure out ahead of time, letting me focus on the adventure and monsters.

“Dungeon Dealer generates random maps with enemies, traps, and obstacles. Draw a card, roll a 20 sided die to see which position the new map section goes, and see if you’ve been surprised by the enemy. For both free drawing and 3D tiles, every card is different. There are literally billions of ways to lay out a map using these unique cards. Both decks can be combined to create massive dungeons.”

The Duchess
This table is amazing, just like every table from this company. It’s also relatively cheap, only $500 for the base model. You can customize it further, adding cup holders and a cover to protect the felt. The felt makes it easy to pick up cards, and prevent some pieces from sliding about. Plus the table in inset so your dice won’t fall on the floor. I really wish I could put this in my home, it’s a great table, and would make a lot of the gaming experience even more enjoyable.

“Do you play a lot of table top games, board games, card games, or RPGs? If you do, then you want to check this out. Watch the video above. I used to be skeptical. I mean, you can play board games on any table. You can even play them on the floor. Can a table really add that much to the experience?

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Every year, more and more people are buying gaming tables because they use one at a convention or at a friend’s house and they fall in love. A game table really does put your game into an arena, taking the experience to the next level. It’s a fun way to play. At the same time, there are real practical benefits:

-A place to rest your arms
-Bits don’t fall off the table
-Cup holders!
-It’s easy to pick up cards off the table

This Kickstarter is about to blow that up, because we are bringing those features to you at a fraction of the price.”
