What’s Cool on Kickstarter

There’s many interesting items to be found on Kickstarter, but these are the coolest ones this week.

Thank You for Screaming
We’re really big fans of Greg Stolze, and can’t wait to get this collection of short stories. A few of these stories are available on Stolze’s personal site, but additional stories are going to be available all in one place, for your reading pleasure (or horror).

“Over the last several years, I’ve written a lot of short fiction for a lot of different venues. I’d like to fund a bound, printed volume of those separate works and make it available for sale.

Backing Thank You For Screaming at a low level gets you eBooks of twenty-five short stories (and one nonfiction essay), released in PDF, ePub and a Kindle friendly .mobi variant.”

Miniature Holders and Grips
These are a really cool looking way to hold your miniatures for painting. They give you a great way to grip the model in your hand, and there is also a bar to help you stabilize the brush for fine detailing.

“The V3 Series Holder System is comprised of Holders, Grips, and Adapters to provide painters and sculptors of all levels of expertise with a unique aid for their painting or sculpting arsenal. The V3 Series Miniature Holder System offers a comfortable, touchless, and precision application for miniatures, sculpts, and flat figures up to 90 mm (3.5”) and miniature busts up to 1/9 scale.”

Trudvang Chronicles
I really love the trend of international RPGs being translated to English and other languages through Kickstarter. The chance to play games from different countries is really cool, and Trudvang looks really cool. I love Nordic mythology, and this setting is steeped in it.

“Trudvang Chronicles is an award-winning fantasy roleplaying game based on the mysterious and dark Nordic and Celtic sagas and myths. Enter a world of enchanted forests, trolls, dragons, spirits of nature, heroes and adventures. Trudvang is both grim and dark, epic and yet down to earth, with a melancholic tone of an ancient age when nature was a living creature and magic was wild and strong. Above all, Trudvang is a saga…”

One Night Ultimate Alien
If you like Ultimate Werewolf or Ultimate Vampire, then One Night Ultimate Alien should be a no brainer. I really like that they’re replacing the narrator with an app, so that more people get the chance to play. I think the extra air of confusion will make this a little different from the previous versions and add a new layer of fun.

“One Night Ultimate Alien is the next game in the award-winning hidden role blockbuster One Night Ultimate Werewolf series, which includes Daybreak and Vampire. Like its predecessors, every player takes on a different role, with many of those characters having a special action to do secretly, after which the players try to determine who among them are Aliens. The catch is, roles can change and in addition to figuring out who the bad guys are, you need to figure out what role you are as well!

One Night Ultimate Alien provides several new roles, most of which have dynamic rule sets, with the app changing things up each game. One Night Ultimate Alien can be played as a stand alone game or combined with the original game, its sequel Daybreak and the Vampire prequel.”

Baby Bestiary Calendar
I love the Baby Bestiary, and now you can get cute and adorable monsters as a wall calendar for 2017.

“It’s that time of year again to launch the Annual Baby Bestiary Calendar!! This year we are featuring Afda Aji, one of our illustrators that did some supplementary work for the Baby Bestiary Handbook Volume 2.”
