There’s many interesting items to be found on Kickstarter, but these are the coolest ones this week.<\/p>\n
A Strange Box<\/strong><\/a> “One of the first questions we get asked at every convention is whether we’re going to do a boxed set for The Strange like we did for Numenera. We are remaking the game from the ground up, with a revamped skill list, new professions, optional rules, and a drastically overhauled combat system. We expect the finished book to be somewhere in the range of 80,000 words. At the time of this campaign’s launch seven of the eleven planned chapters and the included scenario are already written and in the initial editing phase.”<\/p>\n Munchkin Shakespeare<\/strong><\/a> “Presenting Munchkin Shakespeare – a Shakespeare-themed version of the classic Munchkin card game! Shakespeare’s affinity for puns and dramatic betrayal is the perfect complement to this game of monster slaying, punnery, and backstabbing. Et tu, Brute?<\/p>\n For years, fans have requested a Shakespearean Munckin. Some of them – some of YOU! – even helped us brainstorm these pins. \nEverytime MCG puts out a new kickstarter, I know I’m going to need to get what they have to offer. The Strange Box is a follow up to last year’s Numenera Box, featuring a beautiful box to carry all of your game components in as well as books, maps, cards, character sheets, and everything else you need to run a game of the Strange. The box again looks stunning and I can’t wait for a new and improved place to store all of my Strange stuff. You can get the empty box, or one that will be more stuffed with goodies as the campaign goes on. Higher levels include all Strange PDFS, a custom wooden box, and the ability to craft your own recursion. This box will only be available through the Kickstarter, so you should make sure to get your copy. (Haven’t played the Strange? \nWe’ve heard the story of a hero a million times, heard them tell of the struggles they’ve overcome and the challenges they’ve faced as they’ve completed their journey. This game is a little different. As you play you tell stories of the hero from the point of view of their companions. As you play you build a map of your hero’s journey and the people they encounter. I like the Rashomon aspect to the game, where every player’s experience with the hero is a little different until you start to get a picture of the hero as a whole. <\/p>\n
\nGolden Goblin Press has had a lot of experience in releasing great products for Cthulhu Invictus, the Roman era setting for Call of Cthulhu. Now they’re building a new guide for Cthulhu Invictus for the game, rebuilding the system with new skills, professions, and altered combat system. When we played a Cthulhu Invictus scenario as part of Horror on the Orient Express it was really interesting to experience how the Roman era rules really changed the feel of the game. This new book will be essential if you want to include this era in your game. <\/p>\n
\nI don’t even know if I need to explain why this is a great project to back, mostly I need to make everyone aware that it exists. Munchkin is a great and silly game where you work heard to be the first to reach level 10, with all kinds of ridiculous equipment, monsters, and loot. This version bring Shakespeare into it, including all of the terrible (read: wonderful) puns that go along with it. If you or anyone you know like the classics, you should run to get this. <\/p>\nStill Active<\/h4>\n
