What’s Cool on Kickstarter

Resource and Character Meeple Upgrade Kits for Popular Board Games
If you want some more interesting or more sturdy game pieces for your favorite board games, this project is for you.

“We have created a complete upgrade set for a number of games that most gamers own, and if you don’t yet, you should! Ticket to Ride, Pandemic, Power Grid, Agricola, Caverna, Lords of Waterdeep, Dungeon Petz, Francis Drake, Imperial Settlers, Dominant Species, Harbour, Eldritch Horror, and Robinson Crusoe are all fantastic games that many of you have asked us to make upgraded components for. Some of these have been added since the start of the project, so check out where we are at now. Thank you for your valuable input!”

Shadowcraft: The Glamour War
A new game utilizing the FATE system, and this one looks like a lot of fun, especially with all the intrigue

“As a player in Shadowcraft: The Glamour War, you will be a highly trained shadow agent and engage in clandestine actions and operations against the dark court of Kormil. Able to draw from innate magic, powerful fighting abilities, and honed skills, you alone are equipped to step from the shadows to fight the darkness. Each Agent will be assigned, or be able to craft, artifacts to aid you in your missions. These items are of lesser power than the Fae relics of the past; nevertheless, they are potent boons in The Glamour War.

Players will tackle their missions on a variety of fronts. You may be sent to uncover information from a high ranking official at a gala, or to cleanse a battlefield from Kormil corruption. Or, perhaps, you will need to engage in rooftop battles to recover a Fae relic, or delve ancient ruins for secrets of the past. As an Agent in The Glamour War, you have to be ready for anything.”

Ferrofluid
This just looks cool. And fun. And like something I need on my desk ASAP.

“I believe ferrofluid is a great icon to represent the 21st century, much in the same way motion lamps are considered an icon of the 1960’s counterculture revolution. People embraced it as a sort of statement to the zeitgeist of that era. That’s how I feel about ferrofluid at this point in time. This is why I created The Inspiration.”

Dungeons on Demand: Instant 5e Dungeons
I’m just starting on building my own dungeons and plans for adventures and it takes a lot of time that you sometimes just don’t have. This project has some flexible dungeons you can drop in your 5e campaign as needed

“Dungeons on Demand are instant dungeons you can drop into your campaign, each is designed for 4-5 player parties of specified levels, and each dungeon is complete with a back story, hand drawn maps, traps, puzzles, and reference information to monsters and treasure. You can customize each one to fit in your campaign however you wish, and each one can be played through in one or two gaming sessions (depending upon how long you play!)”

Miniature Chests
Unfortunately, I don’t use miniatures in a lot of my games, and have only painted one of my own. But If I had a nice collection, I would love to have a chest like these to store it in.

“If you are anything like me, you have just received a very large shipment of miniatures from REAPER or other Kickstarter projects. With this huge influx of gaming supplies, Hrothgar’s Hoard is introducing some long-term storage solutions to complement it’s existing ROGUE and PRIEST line of cases.

For simplicity sake, the pledge rewards are limited to 4 tiers, one each for the ROGUE CASE, PRIEST CASE, WARRIOR CHEST, and BATTLE CHEST. The pledge amount will get you the appropriate award in either poplar or maple. If you would like a different wood, please consult the wood chart in each section. To keep in the spirit of the new 5th edition rules released, wood is being classified in 5 tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, and Artifact. Upgrades to the cases will also be available. Prices for these are listed in the chart. See the Upgrades Section for information.”

Tesla vs. Edison
In this game you try to outcompete your competitors to take control of the new field of electricity and spread your technology across the country.

“Tesla vs. Edison is a light-to-medium weight strategy game for 2-5 players. You are an investor who teams up and creates a company with one of the exciting, visionary inventors leading the nascent electric light and power industry of 1880s and 1890s America.

Your inventor, along with other famous people of the period that you hire as employees in your company, work together to claim electric projects across the United States, advance your company’s technology, engage in propaganda wars with the other companies, and buy and sell stock from your and your competitors companies.

Tesla vs. Edison plays quickly and provides interesting decisions while telling the exciting story of the birth of electricity.”
